It hangs in our kitchen. Now, over a hundred years old, it has hung in many kitchens since mummy, my grandmother, first used it to call her family to dinner. My mother has used it and our children have used it. Now their children use it as we embrace a warm tradition, rich in loving memories. It has a small hand carved poem at the bottom written by 19th century poet, Byron. It simply reads; That all softening over-powering knell, the tocsin of the soul, the dinner bell.
No meal is complete without first summoning our family, past and present.
