A Winters day can hold pleasant surprises. Saratoga Straits ushers in some very cold Pacific water to Puget Sound. Here, overlooking the Straits and Holmes Harbor on a bright new day, Mt. Baker stands forth in clear and distant view. Very cold water, however, can do little but give up its vapors to a hot morning sun and send it ashore. On this particular morning I didnt have my usual distant view. A mist had rolled in, hiding all the familiar sights. As I looked out at what little there was to paint, the mist was parted by sunbeams making their way to our bird-bath on the bluff. It seemed to be a divine suggestion. If inspiration is what you want; reflect. Light has always provided me with subject matter and this time it was also a reminder that to reflect can suggest an inner resource. This reflection reminds me that faith, or light, makes all things manifest.
